From Rolex and Patek Philippe to Panerai and Breitling, NFL stars love their luxury watches. You can almost always catch top players with high-end timepieces on their wrists when they’re off the field. And sometimes on! Take a look at some of today’s football greats and the amazing watches they wear.
Rolex is a Touchdown With NFL Stars
Rolex is by far the most popular watch in the NFL. Here are just a few of the top players that sport the luxury Swiss watch brand.
Many call him “Matty Ice” but you could also call Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan “Kermit.” The latter is the nickname of the green-themed Rolex Submariner that’s often seen on Ryan’s wrist.
With a vibrant green bezel that beautifully contrasts a black dial, the discontinued 16610LV sports watch is a must-have for serious collectors.
Ryan’s teammate Julio Jones is all about the Sky-Dweller. Considered one of the best wide receivers to ever play the game, Jones also makes a statement off the field with the Everrose timepiece.
The Sky-Dweller is a newer entry in the Rolex line, having debuted in 2012. It’s since gained acclaim for its durability and practical functions in a sophisticated package.
Staying with Atlanta, running back Devonta Freeman makes a big impact with his yellow gold Day-Date Rolex President. At 41 millimeters, Freeman’s Day-Date is larger than most others in the line and stands out as an enviable dress watch.
The Day-Date President has been a prestige timepiece since its debut in 1956, crafted completely of precious metals with a design that never feels dated.
More Rolex Timepieces
Known for his bold fashion choices, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton wears a Rolex Yacht-Master II when he’s off the field. One of the first luxury sports watches to garner international attention, the Rolex Yacht-Master has embodied the spirit of sailing since the 1950s.
The chronograph that was crafted to withstand the rigors of regattas is a quintessential model of combining practical functions and timeless style.

The star quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys often has a Rolex Datejust 41 on his wrist. Much like Dak Prescott’s classic style when he strolls red carpets, the Datejust is the epitome of enduring elegance. The watch debuted in 1945 and later incarnations have maintained the unique design that makes it one of the world’s most recognizable watches.
Dak’s Datejust 41 features a dark rhodium dial that’s offset by 18 carat gold hour markers. A jubilee bracelet completes the classic design. Russell Wilson, the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, has also been spotted wearing a Datejust.

De’Anthony Thomas is a big fan of the Rolex Daytona. The Kansas City Chief’s wide receiver has been spotted with his gold Rolex Daytona during warm-ups for the Valero Alamo Bowl.
While it’s never been verified by photos or video, legend has it Thomas wore the watch during all four quarters. True or not, the Daytona is a good choice to withstand the blows of an NFL game.

A Saint Who Sports Panerai
As iconic as the city he plays for, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has a collection of Panerai watches. The Italian watchmakers have been crafting exclusive timepieces in Florence since 1860.
“Breesus,” as he’s known by fans, has been spotted wearing a Historic Base Panerai Luminor, a minimalistic marvel with a black dial and vintage-style cream-colored markers.
Playing for Patek Philippe
Malik Jackson’s first really big purchase was a Patek Philippe. The defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars dropped $150,000 on a Patek Philippe World Time soon after he solidified his spot in the NFL.
The watch models are recognizable by their dials that track multiple time zones, while the limited production has made them sought-after watches since their debut in the 1930s. But Malik didn’t stop there! He soon picked up a Patek Nautilus in rose gold and a Patek Philippe 5205 in white gold to complete his collection.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is apt to have a Patek Philippe Calatrava gracing his wrist. His go-to Calatrava has a rose gold case with a sapphire crystal back and Patek’s trademark hobnail-style bezel. An enamel dial features Roman numerals and Rodgers finishes his watch with a sophisticated brown alligator strap.
A Big Fan of Breitling
One of the most fashion-forward players in the NFL has a love for Breitling timepieces. New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. gets attention for his talented work on the field. It’s hard not to notice his wild mane of floppy blond hair and the creative designs shaved into his scalp.
But he’s also got a sophisticated side and we’re as likely to spot Beckham looking formal in a tailored suit at galas and events. That’s where you’ll see him wearing a custom diamond-encrusted Breitling chronograph.
Wherever you find sports stars, you will encounter luxury timepieces and the NFL is no exception.
