Tutima Glashutte M2: Durable Titanium Watches

Tutima Glashutte watches, a German watch brand from Glashutte, has been designing and manufacturing high quality watches since 1927. Tutima Glashutte watches have a tradition of creating pilot watches that are reliable, durable and built for longevity. In addition, they include other features like chronographs, day-date displays, and rotating bezels with calibrations for added functionality.

The Tutima Glashutte M2 collection, for example, has 24 models that are both varied in design and features. Most of these automatic Tutima Glashutte watches have chronograph functions that are clear, visible, and easy-to-use. Since these watches are protected by titanium casings, they are also lighter than stainless steel, antimagnetic, and resistant to rusts. Lastly, the screw-in crowns and integrated push buttons with grooved neoprene inlay in their chronograph watches makes them more resistant to falls and minor damages.

Tutima M2 watches are within the category of affordable watches for men. They also make use of thick baton shaped indices and square pointed hour-minute hands for a minimal and symmetrical appearance.

Prices for the Tutima Glashutte M2 Chronograph and M2 Pioneer Series

The selection of chronograph watches have two kinds of models: the M2 Chronograph and the M2 Pioneer. Its general features include Tutima M2’s unique case design which deliberately incorporates “pushers” in the case of their chronographs. This subtle yet distinctive Tutima design ensures the functionality and practicality of the watch.

For instance, the Tutima Glashutte M2 Pioneer 6451-03 is a chronograph watch with a solid pearl blasted titanium case and costs around $5,500 USD to $6,700 USD. It also comes with a titanium bracelet that contrasts well with its velvet black dial design, white accents, and thick baton indices. Its chronograph functions give a pop of red color in the 12-hour register and center second and minute hands. The square date display can be found in the 3 o’clock position with the Tutima logo beside it, and numerical indicators in its inner rings. Lastly, aside from its SuperLumiNova indices, the M2 Pioneer model also has fourteen luminous capsules which helps illuminate the set time intervals in darkness.

Next is the M2 Chronograph 6450-03, which has mostly similar dial designs as the M2 Pioneer models in its black dial, date display, and red-colored 12-hour sub-dial. The only difference is that the M2 Chronograph watches, like this model, do not include a rotating bezel feature. However, this $6,000 USD watch retains its innovative integrated push-buttons on its side chronograph casing and the anti-reflective sapphire crystal case.

Prices for the Tutima Glashutte M2 Seven Seas Watches

The Tutima Glashutte M2 Seven Seas has eight model variations with vivid dial colors like orange, yellow, and blue. The M2 Seven Seas is a collection of dive watches that has a higher water depth resistance of up to 50 ATM which is written on its dial. However, it does have a day and date display at 3 o’clock with  a black background and white font for easy readability.

The M2 Seven Seas 6151-07, for instance, has a bright signal orange dial that allows the black and white color of the day-date window to contrast sharply. This watch also features thick white baton indices and an inner ring with black numerical minute markers. The titanium case is then secured with a black rubber and kevlar strap lined with red stitching at the edges. Aside from its design, its technical details include a unidirectional rotating bezel on its solid pearl blasted titanium casing. This Glashutte dive watch retails at $1,900 USD.

Prices for the Tutima Glashutte M2 Coastline Models

Last in the Tutima collection is the M2 Coastline, which has a chronograph watch option among its eleven models. These high water resistant watches have similar features with the other models from its SuperLumiNova-coated baton indices to its small window display at the 3 o’clock position.

History Behind the Tutima Glashutte M2 Collection

The design and functionalities of the Tutima Glashutte M2 collection is based on the brand’s earlier models from 1984. Since Tutima Glashutte has a long tradition of creating pilot watches for military and professional aviators, their original models were high performance watches with chronograph functions as well. Hence, with the M2 Collection, they released a new and improved rendition of their traditional watches.

We can see this with the M2 Chronograph and M2 Pioneer that has a more fixed and symmetrical design. Its specifications are also said to surpass the quality and prerequisites of their earlier models. They even used titanium cases for extra protection and improved the water depth resistance to up to 30 ATM, and extended it even further for the M2 Seven Seas collection with a 50 ATM resistance. Furthermore, these Glashutte watches also showcase their craftsmanship and skills for creating in-house calibers that are Glashutte made.

With the success of their M2 watches, they added the M2 Seven Seas and M2 Coastline to make more variations of their horological timepieces. It is interesting to note that Tutima created a water-themed watch collection given their aviation history. This shows that Tutima Glashutte is capable of making automatic watches that are versatile, affordable, and highly durable.
