Louis Vuitton Tambour Watches for Sale

The original Tambour from LV has a special and distinct shape that pays homage to the drum. The beat of the drum shows the moving of time. With an exclusive tricolour design that reworks the Gaston V signature, this unique watch is informed by the pursuit of watersports.

These days there are many iterations of the Tambour, with the Damier Cobalt inspired by the House’s Damier canvas, which is reproduced on the watch’s dial. With a V signature that goes onto the flange, this steel version of the Tambour boasts cool red and white for an athletic vibe, with a rubber strap and protruding Louis Vuitton lettering.

Then there is the Tambour Moon, which pays tribute to the first Louis Vuitton watches with what is a modern, urban and sophisticated reinterpretation of a horological icon. The Stainless steel case shows a unique inward curve, lending the watch a distinct crescent profile. With new matte blue dial, this 41.5 mm GMT model donates some modern zip to any wrist.

In under twenty years, Louis Vuitton has managed to propel itself from watchmaking novice to one of the most respected producers of high-end horology on the planet. With the help of the coveted Geneva seal of approval, LV can more than hold their own against some of the Swiss watchmaking world’s biggest and most esteemed brands such as Tag Heuer and Rolex.

At just 14 years old, a young boy named Louis Vuitton made his way from the rural town of Anchay to the French capital of Paris. Travelling on foot, the near 300-mile journey would take the boy almost 2 years to complete and he would find no shortage of difficulties along the way. When the young Vuitton finally arrived in Paris, he would soon secure an apprenticeship in a bag-maker’s workshop and voilá, the legend of Louis Vuitton was born.

Founded in Paris in 1854, French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton is renowned across the globe for producing goods of the highest quality. Classic and original all at once, Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram design is world famous and stands as a symbol of sophistication and elegance.

Today the company consistently ranks among the most valuable luxury brands on the planet, with hundreds of stores across the world and a booming online business. Although perhaps best known for their leather goods such as handbags, purses and various luggage, Louis Vuitton also produces some of the most beautiful watches around.  Many watch enthusiasts are surprised to learn that Louis Vuitton did not begin producing their stunning timepieces until 2002, when the brand’s now legendary Tambour collection was born. These days Louis Vuitton have a dedicated watch workshop where they produce all of their own products along with the highly complex mechanical movements within. In fact, the Geneva-based La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton was opened to much expectation back in 2014. Just two years later, the first Louis Vuitton watch to gain the prestigious Geneva Hallmark was launched in the shape of the Voyager Flying tourbillon “Poinçon de Genève.”

All in all, the Louis Vuitton Tambour is an icon of the brand that mixes modern technology with historic aesthetics. With models made for both male and females, the Tambour range shows LV paying respects to old looks whilst staying creative and contemporary in their style.
