Tag Heuer announced the 2016 Heuer Monza Calibre 17 Chronograph to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first in the family launched way back in 1976. The 2016 Monza can follow its roots all the way down to three iconic timepieces. First, the mono pusher Heuer Chronograph of the 1930s, then the Carrera based Monza of 1976 and finally the 2000 TAG Heuer Monza, which was inspired by the design of the 1930’s Chronograph, while taking its title from the ‘76 Monza.
For over 150 years, TAG Heuer has confronted all trials and tribulations before muscling its way through them. By looking past time honoured traditions of Swiss horology, the brand has managed to achieve ever greater degrees of accuracy and performance. These days, anybody who knows watches knows that TAG is a sturdy, reliable name that never cracks under pressure and continues to blaze a trail across the watchmaking world.
At TAG Heuer, the final touches are the most important thing. The massive care and love to even the smallest details invisible to the normal person make so much of the changes. Our finishing elements take raw metals and make them into sleek and stunning watches. At TAG Heuer, they ensure that all finishing touches are carefully controlled because even a small change can have an impact on the timepiece’s function. TAG is practically in love with accuracy.
The total skills of TAG designers, engineers and mathematicians make TAG Heuer a truly unique brand that is able to reinvent the most simple values of watchmaking. These include design and engineering ideas. Indeed, the dedication to ingenuity combined with TAG Heuer's history is launching the company into a seriously exciting new era.
Just as an engine pushes an automobile, a watch movement or “calibre” is the main mechanism that pumps a watch. Imagine it as the main organ of the watch, pushing energy into all of the timepiece’s mechanisms from the hands to the chronographs and basically allowing it all to work in tandem. While a shiny exterior is de rigueur for any top notch timepiece, it’s the inner workings of the watch that really matter.
All TAG Heuer automatic movements are created in Switzerland and must comply with highly rigorous criteria for accuracy prior to making it into production. A selection of TAG Heuer movements are given an Official Swiss Chronometer Control (C.O.S.C.) Certificate, the highest possible certification of accuracy and quality.
At TAG Heuer, they are always searching for the ideal equilibrium between style and engineering, perfectly learning about and perfecting their approach to materials so that only the finest steel, gold, diamonds and more are able to grace the forearms of buyers.
TAG Heuer watchmakers and engineers possess a fearless and relentless passion for innovating that has helped them to push past every chronograph record for accuracy. In addition, TAG has brought magnetic forces under control to make the finest watches on the planet, the product of real excellence.
